Sprouts sandwich recipe | Sprouts masala sandwich – Indian-style sprouts sandwich recipe with step-by-step pictures.

Sprouted green moong dal sandwich recipe, a simple and healthy sandwich recipe made with green gram sprouts. We all are big fans of sandwiches and I make them every week for breakfast. I usually make sprouts very often and use them for salads.

A few days back I thought I will make the sandwich filling using sprouts. I added boiled potato also to get more volume. You can skip it and add more sprouts. Or you can add grated paneer or finely chopped cabbage too.

Easy sprouts masala sandwich recipe

Ingredients

For the filling

  • 2 tsp oil
  • ¾ cup Sprouts
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 1 potato boiled and mashed
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp chaat masala
  • 2 tbsp coriander leaves finely chopped
  • Salt as needed

Instructions

  • In a pan add oil and add the finely chopped onion.
  • Saute it till translucent.
  • Now add the sprouts and the boiled and mashed potato.
  • Add red chili powder, chaat masala and salt.
  • Combine well and cook for 2 minutes.
  • Add finely chopped coriander leaves and mix well.
  • Switch off the flame.
  • The filling is ready for the Sprouts sandwich.
  • The same filling can be used for making paratha too.
  • Take a slice of bread and apply green chutney on one side.
  • Place it on a buttered tawa, facing the chutney side up.
  • Place 1-2 tbsp of filling on this and spread it well.
  • Cover it with another slice of bread.
  • Cook on both sides till it becomes golden brown.
  • Take out and cut them into 2.
  • Sprouts sandwich is ready to serve.
  • You can pack this for lunch box too.

Notes

1. Finely chopped carrots can be added while adding the sprouts.
2. You can skip the potato and add grated paneer too.
3. Sprouts sandwich can be served for breakfast or packed for lunch box or served as an evening snack too.
