Onion tomato chutney recipe -with video
Onion tomato chutney is the usual one I make for idli or dosa. Chutneys are staple in South Indian cuisine. Though we have Idli or dosa on most days for breakfast or dinner, it is the chutney that makes us look forward to the meal.
This version I tasted long back at a birthday party and tried at home assuming the ingredients, but to my surprise the onion tomato chutney (without coconut) came out well and it tasted almost the same . Two days back I made this for dosa and my little one who doesn’t eat chutneys, enjoyed this a lot. This is similar to the basic kara chutney recipe, but the roasted gram | pottukadalai gives an extra taste to the chutney.

Hi Jeyashri, I made this chutney recently with paniyaram for a get together with school moms. I put less chilli because they are of different nationalities and eat less spicy food. Everybody loved it and asked me for the recipe; so I shared your link. Thanks:)
