Chocolate kheer, vermicelli kheer, a creamy delicious kheer made using vermicelli | semiya recipe given with full video and step by step instructions.
Vermicelli kheer | semiya payasam is a popular Indian dessert. Those days amma makes it whenever we have some newly married couple guests for dinner | lunch. Otherwise, payasam with jaggery will be the usual one at home. Personally i love milk based payasam like carrot kheer, pumpkin kheer, paal payasam, phirni and many more. I wanted to share a chocolate-based recipe for this Valentine’s day. I still don’t have a Baking oven in the new kitchen, so the baking idea is completely ruled out. As we are stepping out only for essentials, we couldn’t buy some ingredients which i planned to make.
I have all the ingredients available at home to make the Chocolate kheer. It’s not only for Valentine’s day but also for my son who is celebrating his birthday on the same day. And he loved it so much and asked me to make it again for him.
I have added chocolate chips and cocoa powder in this recipe. The chocolate chip is melted and made as a chocolate sauce. The reason why we are adding chocolate sauce is, this gives a creamy chocolatey texture to the kheer. The addition of only cocoa powder will make it bitter. So do not skip the chocolate chips.
