Sweet Cucumber dosa, my friend Ashwini shared this with me before I left Singapore. She made this for me to taste and sent it to me before sharing the recipe. Ashwini also shared Poha upkari, Uppu huli khara dosa which I posted in Jeyashris kitchen.
I was thinking to make this dosa for a long time. Finally, I made this yesterday and clicked the pictures too. I have posted Vella dosai | Jaggery dosai in Jeyashri’s kitchen. Do try this Cucumber Jaggery dosa and let me know how it turned out.

Cucumber Jaggery dosa recipe
Easy to make Jaggery dosa with cucumber
Ingredients
- 1 cup raw rice
- ¾ cup Jaggery powder
- ¾ cup coconut
- 1/4 tsp Cardamom powder
- Ghee to make dosa
- Salt a pinch
- 1 Big cucumber grated
Instructions
- Soak the raw rice for 3 hours.
- After 3 hours drain the water completely.
- Grind this into a fine paste by adding jaggery, coconut and cardamom powder. I used 4 whole cardamom pods.
- Use the grated cucumber water to grind this batter.
- Before grating the cucumber just check the taste is not bitter.
- Once the smooth paste is ready, add the grated cucumber to the batter.
- Add a pinch of salt and mix well.
- The batter will be in the consistency of regular dosa batter.
- Heat a dosa tawa and start making dosas immediately.
- Pour 2 ladles of batter on the hot tawa and spread like a dosa.
- Do not spread very thin. Also, let it not be as thick as uttapam.
- Drizzle ghee or oil on the sides.
- Once one side is cooked, flip the dosa.
- Cook for a minute and take out.
- Repeat this for the rest of the batter.
- Serve hot.

Notes
- You can store the batter in the fridge for 2 days. 2. Do not store more than 2 days after adding the cucumber, as it oozes out water.
