Dal khichdi recipe – Easy to make one pot meal, a comfort meal on a weekday or a weeknight dinner or lunch.
We South Indians make paruppu sadam using toor dal and Ven Pongal, it is always our comfort meal. Similarly, I have seen many North Indians make dal khichdi as their comfort meal. Every house has its own version. I learned this for the first time from my neighbor in Singapore. This version is with veggies. I have seen many people make dal khichdi without adding any vegetables. I have used split green moong dal for making this dal khichdi. You can use yellow moong dal or masoor dal instead of green moong dal.
