Green gram juice | Hesaru kalu panaka | Moong bean juice recipe – Karnataka style moong dal juice recipe with full video and step-by-step pictures.
Hesarukalu panaka is a traditional green gram juice recipe from Karnataka. I got this recipe from my friend Meera last year. Suddenly remembered this and made this today. I can say this is a homemade protein shake. Both my kids regularly drink protein shakes and when I served them this green moong juice today, they loved it.
This is a vegan protein shake as we are not adding milk to this. I have added jaggery to this but you can avoid any sweeteners and grind a few pre-soaked dates to this while grinding. Adding almonds is optional in this drink, but it makes the drink more healthier. If you are allergic to nuts, you can avoid this. You can roast and grind the green moong dal into a fine powder and store this in an airtight container also.
This is a natural body coolant and is perfect for the summer season. Make this in the noon and serve this to children when they come back from school.
