Chai masala powder, Homemade chai masala powder recipe – aromatic tea masala with full video and step-by-step pictures. Learn to make masala chai using homemade chai masala.
Tea masala | Chai masala is an aromatic masala, added to Indian tea. I have seen in many Northindian friends’ houses, they keep the chai masala and their tea will always be awesome. I have already posted how to make tea in this Indian Kitchen basics series. Suresh is not a big fan of masala chai but I love mild masala added to chai. I was looking for a perfect recipe for tea masala. I have tried a few store-bought brands too but all turned out a bit spicy and too strong.
Saw the recipe in show me the curry and thought I will give it a try. Wow, I got the perfect chai masala recipe. Try this out at home and I am sure you will love this masala tea.
All the ingredients I have used for this chai masala are easily available at home. The addition of cardamom, dry ginger, cloves, fennel, cinnamon, and black pepper gives an aromatic flavour.
This masala stays fresh for 3-4 months if kept in an air-tight container. To retain its aroma, keep this on kitchen shelves and not inside the freezer.
