In a bowl add besan | gram flour. I used ¾ cup besan for ½ kg of beans. You can increase or decrease the besan as per your preference.
Add red chili powder, turmeric powder, salt and asafoetida.
Add ½ cup water to this and mix well without lumps.
Let this be a thick batter, keep it aside.
In a pan, add 3 tsp oil and add ¼ tsp of mustard seeds and curry leaves.
Add 3.5 cups chopped beans. I used ½ kg of beans.
Mix well and add salt.
Add ¼ cup water to this and cook the beans.
Once the beans are cooked switch off the flame.
Keep it aside.
In a pan add 1 tbsp oil and add ¼ tsp mustard seeds, urad dal and curry leaves.
Saute till the dal turns golden brown.
Now add the gram flour mixture.
Mix well immediately and keep the flame low.
Spread this as a thin layer around the pan.
Let this cook for few minutes.
Saute this and again and repeat the same.
The besan will get cooked evenly and nicely in this way.
We should get a sand like texture, like uthir uthir texture.
Now add the cooked beans and mix well evenly.
Instant paruppu usili ready.

Notes
1.You can add chopped capsicum or onion or any other veggies of your choice.
2.Instant beans usili goes well with sambar, rasam, vathakuzhambu and mor kuzhambu.
